11th Day of Christmas {Giveaways and a Freebie!}

On the 11th day of Christmas Mrs. Lindsey gave to me

This freebie will help your little ones with sequencing numbers 10-20.   Click the image above to hop over to my TpT store and grab this freebie! Let me know what you think by leaving feedback :)

I also have a giveaway at the bottom of this post to win my "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bell" Literacy Mini Pack. You know how I LOVE the old lady books!

But before you go enter check out my answers to our 12 Holiday questions and get to know me a little bit better. :)

1. What's your favorite Holiday song?

The Snoopy theme song is my absolute favorite. It's not exactly a holiday song, BUT I have heard it in the stores when they are playing Christmas music.

Don't you just love how they dance?! So adorable!

2. What's your favorite holiday memory?

My favorite holiday memory is from the first Christmas with my husband (before we were married). I bought him a very large tool box that he had been eyeing at Home Depot. The look on his face when he got it was priceless, and then he had to help me unload the heavy thing from my car.

My car was packed to the roof!

3. What's your favorite holiday indulgence?

My mom always makes cookies by double boiling chocolate and then adding nuts to the melted chocolate. It sounds super easy to make, but I've never got it quite right. Mom always makes a batch for me and one for my sister at Christmas. Let's just say they don't last very long.

4. What's your favorite holiday food?

I love the ham! I know I can bake a ham any time of the year, but of course it's better with the big holiday meal.

5. What's your favorite holiday craft?

When our family gets together for our big meal, we make a gingerbread house with my niece and nephew afterwords. Now, this isn't any ol gingerbread house. My sister actually bakes all of the pieces for the house and makes the icing. We have so much fun putting it together and make such a huge mess!

For the classroom, this is my favorite holiday craft that we made this year-

Just know that you may have some Sharpies die on you during this project.
6. What's your favorite holiday tradition?

The cookie exchange. Each Christmas, the whole extended family comes together. This year it was supposed to be at my house. But, then I did some counting and decided that 20+ people just would not fit in my kitchen and living room. So, I'm still cooking the meal but it will be a my mom and dad's. {Wish me luck because while making cupcakes last week, I turned the oven off in the process of turning the timer on. Let's just say those cupcakes are in the trash.} Anyway, each "little" family makes enough cookies to give to everyone there. Each "little" family brings a bucket and we share our cookies. The hubby and I eat most of them in the car on the way home.

7. What's your favorite holiday movie?

Elf! You just have to love that bubbly, kind personality!

8. What do you get your class for a holiday gift?

When I taught 1st grade, I would always buy them books through Scholastic. When I moved back to kindergarten a couple of years ago, we decided to get them stuffed animals. I teach at a low-income school. When we have our teddy bear day, it's sad to say, but some of them actually do not have a teddy bear at home. So, at Christmas, I make sure that is taken care of.

9. What's your favorite holiday thing to teach?

How do I pick?! Last week we did "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bell". My new Pete the Cat Christmas book came in Friday. I absolutely love it! If you don't have it yet, you NEED it! This week we are doing the Gingerbread Man unit and the week after will be all of my Christmas books I haven't got to yet.

10. What's your favorite holiday book?

11. What's your favorite holiday product?

Hmm...I would have to say the morning messages. You would not believe the conversations we had this week when talking about polar bears! On one message, it was about how polar bears stay warm and we discussed and wrote about how we stay warm. In my head, I figured they would say coat and be done. But, no, I had answers from my kinders like blanket, clothes, and even hot tub! It was definitely an interesting journal entry.

12. What do you want Santa to bring you this year?

I actually already got it. My hubby let me have it early. I got a new printer with an ink plan from Best Buy. They have 3 HP printers to choose from and 3 different plans. I now only pay $10 a month and can print 300 pages a month. It's wireless and sends a message when I need new ink and it's mailed to me. No more going out to buy ink and not remembering what to buy! If I go over my page limit, it's only $1 for each additional 25 pages printed. No more printing in draft trying to save ink and still running out of ink way too fast. If you print a lot, this is something to definitely check out.

  1. I like all your favorites. I love hand print (or foot print) art! I'm not currently teaching or I would enter the giveaway (don't want to take the winner spot away from a teacher who could use it more).

FYI I’m having a giveaway at my blog for my 32-pg place value book--if there are enough entries everyone will be a winner! Feel free to share about it and enter.
