Gingerbread Decorating Fun ~ With Freebie!

Hello friends! While getting ready for Christmas, my teaching partner and I have decided to do gingerbread all the way until Christmas break. This is due in part to deck the halls that my school has started doing each year. Each year we work together to decorate our hallways based on a Christmas book. Our hallway theme this year is gingerbread men so basically all the finished products in the classroom will find its way to our hallway for deck the halls.

Here is what I have created for my math and literacy centers to go along with our theme:

Here are a few pictures of these set up in stations in my room. Most were put in baggies and baskets so they can be easily cleaned up.

The Gumdrop Number Sequencing is my freebie to you to use for sequencing numbers to 20. Enjoy!

A wonderful parent bought every student in my class a gingerbread man to decorate. Oh my word, we had so much fun with this!

We decided that the one below was the most likely to run away.

This week each student is going to be given a cut out of a gingerbread man and students are going to decide which part {head, leg, arm} they are going to bite off first. They will cut that part off of their gingerbread man and then we are going to write about it and do a data collection and graphing activity. Afterwards we are going to eat a gingerbread cookie.

The first 2 followers to comment can choose one of my 4 new Christmas/Gingerbread packets. Just leave your email and tell me which one you want!

Turkey Time {with FREEBIE}

Hello friends! I don't know about you, but I am almost turkeyed (is that even a word?!) out!  We have been doing a lot of work from my Turkey Math and LA unit. We did write the room for the first time today. Somehow I just have not squeezed it in until now. My kinders really did awesome and enjoyed it. I can now put it in one of my literacy stations. :)

Their awesomeness was hung up on the wall.

Here is a math station for students who are still working on numbers to 10. *Fingers crossed* that these little sweeties pick it up by Christmas. I made it a clippy station, because they need the fine motor work as well.

They have LOVED making their own turkeys! Little do these little turkeys know that they are practicing skills with each feather (heehee). You can get this little packet for free!

And finally here is my Fry word station completed. Our turkey now has all of his feathers covered in words. :) My kinders actually pinned the feathers on themselves without any "help" from me. I am amazed at how the feathers are placed.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Working With ABCs and Fry Words

Hello Friends! Shew, has this year flown by, or is it just me? I cannot believe we are almost done with the alphabet and my kinders have got it! This week we have really been focusing on alphabetic sequencing. I got this packet from Marsha from A Differentiated Kindergarten{all of her stuff is awesome and you can get it here}. It has been a huge hit with the kiddos. Here are some pictures of it in action.

I couldn't believe how quickly they just picked it up and went with it. They LOVED how the clothespins helped hide the answer and getting to check when they were done.

On to some turkey fun. Below is one of the language arts activities from my new unit - Turkey Math and Language Arts Craftivities
As the kids make them, I am going to hang them around our Fry word station.

At the Fry word station, I have a turkey without his feathers! My kiddos will get one feather when they are at the station and write as many Fry words as they can on it, then pin it to the board. I don't know what it is, but they get a kick out of pinning things to the board. For fall this station was a tree and they added fall colored leaves and then pumpkins with Fry words on the board. I have a feeling this station will stick around all year, I'll just change it to match the seasons/holidays. This was a great idea from my partner in crime - Becky - who always has fun creative ideas.

New Math Unit and *FREEBIE*

I LOVE that I am moving back to kindergarten this year, but I have been working super hard to make sure I have enough station activities. With our evaluations we have to make our stations are differentiated AND include choice. Whew! It's a lot of work, but hopefully once I get it together I'll be good to go. Here's what I just finished for math stations with working on 5 and 10 frames. It's 56 pages of 5 and 10 frame fun!

Click on the pictures above or below to check it out!

Here's a little freebie for my followers from my new unit! Click above to get it through Google Docs.

My Room is Ready!, Donors Choose & *FREEBIE*

My classroom is finally DONE!! YAY!! I moved classrooms this year, again. I finally have everything ready to go!
This is the back of my cubbies. I have them set up for stations.

My reading corner.

My "Bravo" board to hang up awesome work.
Board for station groups and schedule.

Our meeting area. Love my purple rocking chair. So thankful my hubby painted it for me. It was a very dark green that didn't match anything.

More stations.

Computers and listening center.

My teaching table with my stuff behind it.
One of my 3 doors...these owls will have my kiddo's picutres on them after the first day.

How we go home and behavior chart from Really Good Stuff
View from the door.

I  had to make a hallway in my room so students from the room beside me can easily go through my room to get to the bathroom and main building without distracting my little ones. I can just see a wild child running through during an evalution.Since taking the picutres I have acquired a chalkboard and purchased a fishtank it's the kind with a black light in it for GloFish. I'm pretty excited about it! :)

Have you ever used Donors Choose??? I have posted 2 projects to get a kidney table and an easel for my classroom. **Fingers crossed** I hope they will get funded!!
Be No. 1... Give to Public Schools in Need! - Go to DonorsChoose.org
Clicking on the picture will take you to my project page. :)

And now for the *FREEBIE*! I love freebies! I found some great word work ideas while blog stalking and decided I needed some mats for them. The pictures are what I have made from the word work ideas.

And here is the freebie with directions for the games at my TPT store.

If you choose to download it, please leave feedback! I hope you all can use it with your word work activities!!
