Springing Into Science Blog Hop {Freebie and Giveaway!}

Hello friends! Welcome to the blog hop!

How do you integrate Science into your curriculum? Some units are easy to integrate and others are not. Here's a peek at what we've been up to this week and it includes a lot of Science!
My kinders have LOVED learning about life cycles. To correlate with Earth Day this week, we have worked with the life cycle of a plant.
We've read these books:

Here is one of the anchor charts that we made to help with writing:
I have been using labels for my anchor charts that are like this. I print and laminate them first. Then, I tape them onto my paper. My paper came from the mailing section. It's technically packing paper and comes in a large pack. One pack lasts me for the whole year. And, unlike butcher paper it's already cut to the right size and I don't have crooked anchor charts from my lack of being able to cut in a straight line.  The only problem is it is a little thin.
By doing this I can prep my anchor charts way ahead of time and check that off of my list!

This was on our focus wall. My students also use this to help with their writing when they are wanting to spell on of those words.

Most of my activities this week have come from this packet

You can enter in the rafflecopter below for a chance to be one of the 2 luckies to win this packet!

And...here is a little freebie from that packet to get you started with writing!

And continue on the hop...

Discovered Something New!

Hello friends! We are in the final countdown in my little kindergarten class. We only have 6 days left! I've been looking for activities that will be meaningful and fun for these last few days. We are finally going to be able to work on my Frog Life Cycle unit.
And today I discovered this from The Primary Techie.
The Primary Techie

Ocean Theme Working on Teen Numbers MOVE IT!
I absolutely cannot wait to try it out!!
It will be an awesome interactive way to review teen numbers before my kinders go on to 1st and it has dance breaks!! The best part of all is she has over 50 Move It units! I just added many to my wishlist {shhhhh, don't tell my husband because I already got a lot of goodies during the sale}. Click on either picture to check it out!

You should check out and follow her blog if you don't already!
Her teacher tip Thursdays are awesome!

Now...on to the product I picked from her store {there were so many good ones it was hard to pick!}.

This unit is packed FULL of fun activities for when you work with plants!
We planted beans because I was pretty sure I could keep them alive and we documented the growth.
My favorite activity (one of those where you take the picture with your phone, yet somehow it's not on your phone...) was where students wrote and drew what they thought our bean would end up looking like.
Below are some pictures from this super fun unit:

One of my student's parents so thoughtfully provided the items for us to make "dirt" for a special snack.
Helping another open the pudding.
Double thumbs up good!
